TRANSPORTATION

There are plenty of public transportation options nearby. Moreover, you can access the 174 from either Place d’Orleans or Jeanne d’Arc. Orleans Blvd does not have highway access, which cuts down on traffic in the area.

  • Convent Glen O-Train Station – The Line 1 Extension of the LRT is likely to be running by the end of 2025. This will connect Orleans to the LRT line that runs downtown and through to Tunny’s Pasture. It should significantly shorten commute times for commuters from the East end, and, once operational, Convent Glen station will have trains for both Line 1 and Line 3.
  • Currently, there are OC Transpo Bus stops nearby as follows:
    • Lumberman Way and Orleans Blvd (Bus routes 34 and 31)
    • Grey Nuns Drive and Lumberman (Routes 138 and 637)

RECREATION

  • Glen Park / TrĆØva Cousineau Park – Tucked between two schools along Grey Nuns Drive, but accessible through an access point off Lumberman Way, Glen Park has a small playground, splash pad, and a basketball net, along with plenty of bench seating. According to the City of Ottawa, it’s actually known as TrĆØva Cousineau Park and is part of an extensive park network that winds through the broader neighbourhood including Grey Nuns Park (just across Grey Nuns Drive) and Friar Gate Park to the north. Friar Gate Park is the closest off-leash Dog park in the area.
  • Orleans Dome – This is Ottawa’s newest sports dome (built in 2024), located at 6588 CarriĆØre Street (just south of St Joseph Blvd on Orleans Blvd) and has 3 turf fields and 4 tennis/pickleball courts that can be rented. AtlĆ©tico Ottawa Juniors is one of the main users of this dome in the winter months.

  • Henry Larsen Elementary School – Students in Early French Immersion, Middle French Immersion, and English with Core French transition to Henry Larsen for grades 7 and 8.
  • Cairine Wilson Secondary School – Located at 975 Orleans Blvd, students head here for grades 9-12

This is the English Catholic board, which has english and french immersion programs.
